James May’s Man Lab sees James help viewers relearn vital skills that are in danger of being lost forever.  In the second series, James and his team set about performing action packed feats, teaching practical skills and creating wacky inventions, such as the wildest crazy golf hole ever. 

BBC1’s The One Show invited James May on as a guest on Wed 19 October 2011, and the producers knew immediately that to promote the episode about crazy golf, who better to come to than UrbanCrazy!  After all, when it comes to original, creative and high-quality crazy golf themes, we are the leaders in the industry.  Over the years we have come up with more ideas for courses than James May has driven cars round a track!

Minigolf. The perfect cure for IBS!

Earlier this year, Suffolk-based creative agency Poulsen Selleck approached UrbanCrazy to create a 3-hole portable minigolf course on behalf of their client, Ipswich Building Society. 

The requirement was for an exciting, attractive, themed course which IBS could take on the road during the summer months, for the public to sample at various community events. In between those events, some of the holes were to be stationed at their branches around Suffolk to give customers something to do whilst queuing for "cashier number four, please"!

Did you know that minigolf is played as a competitive sport all around the world?  Yes, it’s true!  And what’s more, the Great Britain Men’s Minigolf squad, sponsored by UrbanCrazy, will soon be heading to Stockholm to take part in the World Minigolf Championships, which runs from 24-27 August.

Our players - Brad Shepherd, Marc Chapman, Michael Smith, Chris Harding, Sean Homer, Tony Kelly and John “Ted” McIver - are all ranked in the top ten of the British Minigolf Association’s Tour and have been selected to compete against 17 other nations including: Norway; Japan; France; Pakistan; Latvia and Italy at this, the most prestigious minigolf event on the planet!

Walkers have just launched “Crinkles” – a fantastic new range of crinkle-cut crisps. As part of their marketing campaign, we at UrbanCrazy were asked to build and supply a branded, crinkly-surfaced crazy golf course for an event at the ASDA headquarters in Leeds earlier this month, where staff could sample the new snack and play the putting course in an attempt to win a prize.

Minigolf In Your Garden! In May this year, Urban Crazy took on it’s most exciting project yet - to design and construct a bespoke miniature golf course in a private back garden in North London. They were asked to include a water feature, as many natural elements as possible and to make the course attractive and fun to play. To add interest, it was also decided that one of the holes would weave in and out of the shed!

Great Britain At The Asia Open

Great Britain At The Asia Open Since 1997, the British Minigolf Association (or BMGA) has been organising a countrywide tour, where anyone can compete against each other on some of the finest mini golf, crazy golf and adventure golf courses to be found in the UK.  Each year, the tour attracts competitors of all ages and abilities to upwards of 20 tournaments on courses located in places such as Birmingham, London, Hastings, Aberdeen, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Bristol and Norfolk.
